OUR AIMS

Enabling - To work in partnership to enable each parish in Guernsey to strengthen the island's plant infrastructure by supplying free trees and promoting planting the right trees in the right places

SAFE Gardening - To give environmental, social and economic benefits to the Island through allergy-friendly planting.

Education - To educate adults and children at a basic level about the value of plants

Who We Are - Green Legacy Guernsey is the brainchild of Nigel Clarke, Proprietor of Queux Plant Centre which he founded in 1989.  Nigel's interest in the natural environment led him to research the effect of plants on our health and well being.

Nigel attended a "Growing Schools" conference at the Botanical Garden in Birmingham in 2008.  Whilst there, he read a Chinese proverb written by Kuan Tzu in 500 BC.  He says that Kuan's words are symbolic of Queux's objectives since it began and these words have, thanks to the poet's foresight, formed Green Legacy Guernsey's Mission Statement.  Nigel is confident that educating this generation will make a difference in 100 years time.

Green Legacy Guernsey was awarded the 2013 Insurance Corporation Best Conservation Project
